Rainy, cloudy weather across Bosnia with a yellow wind warning for the Foča region

The Federal Hydrometeorological Institute forecast mostly cloudy weather with rain and local showers across Bosnia and Herzegovina for Sunday, 11 October, clearing gradually from the northwest while central and eastern Bosnia and Herzegovina remain cloudy longer; a yellow wind warning was issued for the Foča region, with Monday forecast to be partly to mostly cloudy in Bosnia and mostly sunny in Herzegovina with falling temperatures.

FUCZ daily report: fires and flash-flood warning across the Federation of BiH, 09–10 October 2026

The Federal Civil Protection Administration reported several small fires of vegetation and waste extinguished by fire brigades across five cantons, with the Ada landfill fire in Čapljina still being fought, while hydrometeorological authorities warned of possible flash floods on the middle and lower Neretva basin and the Trebižat basin, with a yellow weather warning for Mostar and Livno.

The Federal Hydrometeorological Institute forecast mostly cloudy weather with rain and local showers, occasionally with thunder, heaviest in Herzegovina and western/southwestern areas, prompting a yellow alert for Livno, Mostar, Banja Luka and Trebinje. New reports add that gradual clearing from the northwest is expected the next day while cloudy weather with intermittent rain persists centrally, eastward and in Herzegovina, with strong to gale-force bura winds forecast in the south.

Leaking at Poljud stadium during the Hajduk-Dinamo derby in Split

During Saturday's Hajduk-Dinamo derby at Poljud stadium in Split, heavy rain exposed the venue's shortcomings as water leaked through the roof onto the stands, boxes and the exit tunnel. Footage reignited debate over a new stadium, with Hajduk and Torcida demanding a new build while PM Andrej Plenković has spoken of renovating the existing one.

Fire in a flat in Novi Beograd, 18 people evacuated

A fire broke out shortly after midnight in a first-floor flat in Pere Segedinca Street in Novi Beograd, Serbian media report. Firefighters evacuated 18 people and quickly brought the fire under control, with one person lightly injured and taken to hospital.

Fire at the Metis waste site in Pula extinguished, one firefighter slightly injured

A large fire that broke out on Friday afternoon at the Metis waste site in Pula was fully extinguished by Saturday morning around 6:50, with the city saying the smoke danger has passed. One firefighter was slightly injured and released after treatment, while Mayor Peđa Grbin said, citing the public health institute, that air pollution had not reached levels harmful to health.

Cause determined for fire at the Metis recycling centre in Pula

Police in Istria have reported that a fire which broke out on Friday at the Metis recycling centre in Pula's Šijana district was caused by a thermal reaction inside a pile of unsorted waste; the blaze was contained that evening and fully extinguished by Saturday morning, with one firefighter slightly injured.

Fire at waste sorting facility in Lopar on Rab

A fire broke out on Saturday evening at the Sorinj waste sorting facility in Lopar on the island of Rab, burning around 20 of the roughly 80 tonnes of waste stored there; firefighters contained and fully extinguished it overnight without damage to nearby structures, and the cause remains unknown.
