Dog breaks free from owner and bites young woman and her dog in Požega

Police in Požega-Slavonia County report that a dog broke free from its 70-year-old owner's leash along the Orljava riverside walkway in Požega and bit a 23-year-old woman, then her dog, leaving her slightly injured; a misdemeanour charge against the owner is to follow and a veterinary inspector will be notified.

Montenegro closes EU accession Chapter 19 ahead of planned schedule

Montenegro's Ministry of Social Welfare, Family Care and Demography announced that the country is closing EU accession Chapter 19 (Social Policy and Employment) ahead of its originally planned December deadline, citing the fulfilment of three final benchmarks across nine areas. The closure is expected at an Intergovernmental Conference on 12 October in Luxembourg.

Analysis of Bosnia's general election results presented at a Krug 99 session in Sarajevo

At a Krug 99 session in Sarajevo, professor Adnan Mašić presented an analysis of preliminary Bosnian general election results, citing an around 20% drop in turnout in the Federation compared to 2022 and naming SDA, SNSD and HDZ as the winners. He also warned about misuse of the vital national interest mechanism to block the formation of government, citing Una-Sana Canton and a similar announcement for Sarajevo Canton.
