War criminal Mladić wounded in retreat from Bužim battlefield in 1994
In autumn 1994, war criminal General Ratko Mladić personally led a VRS attack on Bosnia's Fifth Corps in Operation "Breza 94" aimed at taking Bužim, but failed to break the 505th Knights' Brigade's defence under General Izet Nanić. On 12 September Nanić ordered artillery fire that wounded Mladić, who then retreated, leaving behind personal documents and his cap.
