Election of the 14th reisu-l-ulema of the Islamic Community in BiH held today in Sarajevo

A 398-member electoral body is voting today at the Gazi Husrev-beg Library in Sarajevo to choose the new reisu-l-ulema of the Islamic Community in BiH from among three candidates: Mostar mufti Salem Dedović, Sarajevo mufti Nedžad Grabus, and Rijaset religious affairs director Mensur Malkić. The secret ballot requires at least 200 of 398 votes, with the winner succeeding Husein Kavazović, who per the Community's constitution could not stand again.

Ćudić, after resigning as leader of Naša stranka, comments on government talks in Sarajevo Canton

Sabina Ćudić, outgoing leader of Naša stranka, explained on FTV's evening news her reasons for resigning and said talks on forming a new government in Sarajevo Canton have become a settling of scores with the so-called Trojka parties, including threats of arrests and judicial action. Asked whether a new Sarajevo Canton government would be formed, she said she did not think so.

Minić announces programme for children to visit regions of Republika Srpska

Savo Minić, the SNSD candidate who according to preliminary CEC BiH data won the most votes in the Republika Srpska presidential election, announced on social media that one of his first actions in office would be a programme for children to visit all regions of the entity, naming Banja Luka, Herzegovina, Krajina and Posavina as examples.

Serbia's election commission announces total number of registered voters for 25 October parliamentary elections

Serbia's election commission (RIK) announced that 6,450,523 voters are registered for the 25 October snap parliamentary elections, with the same number of ballots to be printed in 29 language variants, while some commission members flagged discrepancies in voter numbers in Novi Sad and rejected objections from a student list over voting abroad.

Banovići mine gets director with full mandate after affair involving former director

The Supervisory Board of the Banovići brown coal mine appointed Enes Šabanović, previously acting director, as director with a mandate until June 2028, following the Federation government's approval on 30 September. The appointment follows an affair involving former director Rasim Dostović, arrested in March, with the Supreme Court of FBiH's Special Department confirming an indictment against him and Damir Mujkić of Lukavac for receiving and giving a bribe.
