Čović and Dodik announce HDZ BiH-SNSD delegation meeting in Banja Luka on government formation

HDZ BiH leader Dragan Čović is to meet SNSD leader Milorad Dodik in Banja Luka on Monday, with RTRS reporting a delegation-level meeting at noon followed by a press conference, after Čović earlier met SDA leader Bakir Izetbegović in Sarajevo on government formation. Dodik said SNSD's existing coalition partners had proven good collaborators.

CEC orders recount and opening of ballot bags at 17 polling stations

The BiH Central Election Commission ordered the Main Counting Centre to hand-count ballots from four polling stations and to open ballot-material bags at 13 more to check their contents and look for missing SIT forms, with manual counting to follow at those sites too if the forms are not found.

Reports by Canadian lobbying firm reveal activities for Republika Srpska authorities toward Israel and Saudi Arabia

Canadian lobbying firm Dickens & Madson, led by Ari Ben-Menashe, filed FARA reports with the US Department of Justice stating it contacted Israeli and Saudi officials on behalf of Republika Srpska's authorities to seek support for the entity's strengthened position and independence from Bosnia and Herzegovina. The contract was reportedly signed in 2025 by RS's representative in Austria, Mladen Filipović, and the claims of Israeli and Saudi backing originate solely from the firm's own report.

CEC BiH orders recount of votes from a Bijeljina polling station after blank memory cards

The Central Election Commission of BiH ordered a repeat electronic and manual recount of ballots from polling station 029B126 in Bijeljina after it was found that the device's memory cards were blank and results were not transmitted on 4 October. The recount is taking place at the Main Counting Centre at the "Zetra" facility in Sarajevo, which candidates, political parties and accredited observers may attend.

Komšić approves 12,636 KM from budget reserve for lift repair in Sarajevo building

BiH Presidency member Željko Komšić issued a decision allocating 12,636 KM from the institutions' budget reserve to resident Anđelka Nikolić for lift repairs in a residential building at Azize Šaćirbegović 16 in Sarajevo, where media report he himself lives. His office explained the funds were approved based on a request citing a disabled household member and other residents with reduced mobility in the building.

SDA leader Bakir Izetbegović and Party for Bosnia and Herzegovina leader Semir Efendić met at SDA headquarters in Sarajevo to discuss the political situation, the general election results and the process of forming government at various levels. Agreed priorities for the coming period include strengthening the economy, infrastructure investment and protecting state interests, following an earlier announced SDA-SBiH-DF coalition in Sarajevo Canton.

Preliminary CEC results: Minić ahead of Blanuša for RS president, Cvijanović wins Serb member of BiH Presidency seat

According to preliminary CEC data from 98.22 percent of counted polling stations, SNSD candidate Savo Minić leads SDS candidate Branko Blanuša by 58,424 votes in the race for RS president, while SNSD's Željka Cvijanović won 55.58 percent of the vote for the Serb member of the BiH Presidency, ahead of SDS's Marinko Božović and Nebojša Vukanović of the List for Justice and Order.

Election of the 14th reisu-l-ulema of the Islamic Community in BiH held today in Sarajevo

A 398-member electoral body is voting today at the Gazi Husrev-beg Library in Sarajevo to choose the new reisu-l-ulema of the Islamic Community in BiH from among three candidates: Mostar mufti Salem Dedović, Sarajevo mufti Nedžad Grabus, and Rijaset religious affairs director Mensur Malkić. The secret ballot requires at least 200 of 398 votes, with the winner succeeding Husein Kavazović, who per the Community's constitution could not stand again.
