Difficult traffic conditions across Bosnia and Herzegovina due to wet roads, works and closed sections

According to BIHAMK, roads across Bosnia and Herzegovina are wet and slippery with increased landslide risk on sections in cuttings, and numerous sections have ongoing roadworks with altered traffic regimes. The A-1 motorway section Kakanj-Lašva is closed to all traffic and rerouted to the opposite carriageway, while the Golubinja-Nemila subsection is closed for motorway construction with traffic diverted to the M-17 trunk road.

Football club Famos bus veers off road en route to Goražde

A bus carrying players and staff of football club Famos from Hrasnica veered off the road en route to Goražde, where a Second League of FBiH match was due to be played, with club statements reporting minor injuries to several team members but no serious injuries. The match was postponed due to the circumstances and the shock experienced by the passengers.

Freight train derails near Meja station close to Rijeka

A Transagent freight train derailed at 9:25 am on Saturday at the entrance to Meja station near Rijeka, with eleven wagons falling into a ravine. HŽ Infrastruktura reported that the driver had alerted dispatch that the brakes had failed, that no one was injured, but that major material damage occurred and the station was closed to all traffic.

Three-car crash in Brnaze near Sinj, six injured

Three cars collided in Brnaze near Sinj on the D1 state road on Saturday evening around 18:10, with police reporting six people injured and taken to hospital in Split, where staff said five arrived and none were life-threateningly hurt; traffic on the Brnaze-Kukuzovac section is being alternated on one lane.

Bus and car collide near Krojčica on the Tuzla-Dubrave road

A bus and a car collided on the Tuzla-Dubrave regional road at Krojčica, in the Živinice municipality area, police confirmed, with traffic moving along one lane while an on-site investigation continues and no injury information yet available.

Freight train derails near Meja station on the approach to Rijeka

A Transagent freight train carrying grain derailed around 9:25 this morning at the entrance to Meja station near Rijeka, with 11 wagons falling into a ravine and the locomotive and two wagons remaining on the tracks; no one was injured but there is major material damage and the station is closed to rail traffic. Early reports say the driver reported brake failure before the derailment, while HŽ Infrastructure's management calls for stricter inspection of wagons and locomotives and the train drivers' union head says the wagons' roadworthiness is questionable.

Report on wet and slippery roads across Republika Srpska and the Federation of BiH

Republika Srpska's auto-moto association reports wet and slippery roads across most of Republika Srpska and the Federation of BiH, warning of landslide risk, fog and reduced visibility and urging cautious driving. Several trunk road sections, including Dragotinja-Prijedor and stretches near Lončari, Pelagićevo and Obudovac, are under repair works regulated by temporary signage.

Car veers off road and hits pole in Banja Luka's Lauš neighbourhood

A car ran off the road in Banja Luka's Lauš neighbourhood, struck a concrete power pole and flipped onto its roof in a roadside canal on Karađorđeva Street; one person was injured and firefighters from the Banja Luka Fire and Rescue Brigade assisted before the injured person was handed to an ambulance crew.

Sarajevo water utility announces nighttime pressure reduction in Sarajevo Canton

Sarajevo's water utility KJKP ViK announced a reduction in water pressure across Sarajevo Canton from midnight to 6am due to routine system stabilisation work, warning of possible full interruptions in higher floors and peripheral supply areas, with normal supply expected to resume after 6am.

Around a thousand people without water in the Vrgorac area due to drought, army assisting

Prolonged drought and a record-low water level at the Banja spring have left around a thousand residents in the wider Vrgorac area without water, while the town of Vrgorac and the Zavojane settlement have secured supply; firefighters and the Croatian army are delivering drinking water by tanker, and the mayor has announced a permanent solution linking the Butina and Banja springs.

Belgrade Waterworks announces water supply interruptions in Novi Beograd from October 12 to 17

Belgrade Waterworks has announced intermittent water supply interruptions and reduced pressure at night from 22:00 to 06:00 between October 12 and 17, due to network flushing in the Novi Beograd municipality. Works will proceed block by block, and residents are advised to prepare water supplies as brief water cloudiness may occur.
