Four REM Council members deny a ruling that N1 and Nova breached election-silence rules

Four members of Serbia's broadcasting regulator REM say the Council never ruled that N1 and Nova breached pre-election media silence, despite such a claim being posted on REM's website and reported elsewhere as an official decision; they say an October 23 session lacked quorum and the issue was never on its agenda, and are demanding the statement be withdrawn.

Croatian police file criminal complaint over threats to journalists who reported on unrest in Split

Croatian police said they filed a criminal complaint with the Split prosecutor's office against a 29-year-old suspected of posting a photo collage and threatening text targeting 11 journalists and a political analyst on social media on 18 October. Reports say the threats followed coverage of the Torcida fan group, which marched through Split chanting Nazi and antisemitic slogans before a Hajduk-Ajax match.
