AMSS reports autumn driving conditions in Serbia and truck wait at Batrovci

Serbia's Auto-Moto Association reported wet and slippery roads across much of the country due to cooling and rain, advising drivers to adjust speed and increase following distance; there are no delays at toll stations or passenger border terminals, but trucks exiting the country at Batrovci are waiting two hours.

Ponoš calls on opposition to discuss possible refusal to hand over power after elections

Zdravko Ponoš, leader of the Srbija centar party and a top candidate on the Evropska Srbija list, said in a podcast that opposition actors should already begin discussing what to do if the current authorities do not hand over power peacefully after the snap parliamentary elections set for 25 October. He also said a vote for the Evropska Srbija list is not a wasted vote but a safe vote for a European Serbia.

Đilas announces dissolution of BIA at future government's first session

Dragan Đilas, top candidate on the 'European Serbia' list, said a new government would dissolve the BIA security agency at its first session and form a new professional security-intelligence service. He said he proposes his own file be opened first and that circumstances around the killing of former PM Zoran Đinđić should be clarified.

Man arrested in Belgrade on suspicion of possessing and selling heroin

Belgrade police arrested a 49-year-old man, identified by initials N. P., on suspicion of unauthorised possession and sale of narcotics, acting on an order from the First Basic Public Prosecutor's Office in Belgrade. A search of his vehicle, flat on Savski venac and shared building areas turned up about 200 grams of heroin, 36.6 kilograms of cutting agent, and cash in euros and dinars, with the suspect held for up to 48 hours.
