Montenegro closes EU accession Chapter 19 ahead of planned schedule

Montenegro's Ministry of Social Welfare, Family Care and Demography announced that the country is closing EU accession Chapter 19 (Social Policy and Employment) ahead of its originally planned December deadline, citing the fulfilment of three final benchmarks across nine areas. The closure is expected at an Intergovernmental Conference on 12 October in Luxembourg.
