Man arrested in Split on suspicion of threatening journalists and an analyst on social media

Police in Split filed a criminal complaint against a 29-year-old Croatian national suspected of posting a collage of photos of eleven journalists and a political analyst on social media on 18 October, along with text constituting a direct threat; unofficial reports from Slobodna Dalmacija name him as Torcida secretary Ivan Rinčić, and he was handed over to a detention supervisor pending a complaint to the Split municipal prosecutor's office.

Croatian police file criminal complaint over threats to journalists who reported on unrest in Split

Croatian police said they filed a criminal complaint with the Split prosecutor's office against a 29-year-old suspected of posting a photo collage and threatening text targeting 11 journalists and a political analyst on social media on 18 October. Reports say the threats followed coverage of the Torcida fan group, which marched through Split chanting Nazi and antisemitic slogans before a Hajduk-Ajax match.
