Čović and Dodik announce HDZ BiH-SNSD delegation meeting in Banja Luka on government formation

HDZ BiH leader Dragan Čović is to meet SNSD leader Milorad Dodik in Banja Luka on Monday, with RTRS reporting a delegation-level meeting at noon followed by a press conference, after Čović earlier met SDA leader Bakir Izetbegović in Sarajevo on government formation. Dodik said SNSD's existing coalition partners had proven good collaborators.

CEC orders recount and opening of ballot bags at 17 polling stations

The BiH Central Election Commission ordered the Main Counting Centre to hand-count ballots from four polling stations and to open ballot-material bags at 13 more to check their contents and look for missing SIT forms, with manual counting to follow at those sites too if the forms are not found.

Reports by Canadian lobbying firm reveal activities for Republika Srpska authorities toward Israel and Saudi Arabia

Canadian lobbying firm Dickens & Madson, led by Ari Ben-Menashe, filed FARA reports with the US Department of Justice stating it contacted Israeli and Saudi officials on behalf of Republika Srpska's authorities to seek support for the entity's strengthened position and independence from Bosnia and Herzegovina. The contract was reportedly signed in 2025 by RS's representative in Austria, Mladen Filipović, and the claims of Israeli and Saudi backing originate solely from the firm's own report.

Komšić approves 12,636 KM from budget reserve for lift repair in Sarajevo building

BiH Presidency member Željko Komšić issued a decision allocating 12,636 KM from the institutions' budget reserve to resident Anđelka Nikolić for lift repairs in a residential building at Azize Šaćirbegović 16 in Sarajevo, where media report he himself lives. His office explained the funds were approved based on a request citing a disabled household member and other residents with reduced mobility in the building.

Banovići mine gets director with full mandate after affair involving former director

The Supervisory Board of the Banovići brown coal mine appointed Enes Šabanović, previously acting director, as director with a mandate until June 2028, following the Federation government's approval on 30 September. The appointment follows an affair involving former director Rasim Dostović, arrested in March, with the Supreme Court of FBiH's Special Department confirming an indictment against him and Damir Mujkić of Lukavac for receiving and giving a bribe.

SDP Youth Forum calls on citizens to seek lift-repair aid after funds approved for building where Komšić lives

The SDP Youth Forum of Sarajevo Canton said that if a disabled person's family's request was enough for Bosnia's Presidency to approve lift-repair funds for the building where Željko Komšić lives, the same principle should apply to other families in a similar situation.The request concerns a 1 October decision approving 12,636 KM from the state institutions' budget reserve for the repair, which Komšić's office explained was based on a resident's request citing her disabled husband.

Dodik states views on the Dayton Agreement and Republika Srpska institutions

Nedeljko Elek, reportedly removed from public office and expelled from the SNSD party over the summer, called on social media for Republika Srpska citizens to vote for Aleksandar Vučić in Serbia's snap parliamentary election on 25 October. He offered to cover travel costs for those wishing to go vote in Serbia but unable to afford it.

RAK adopts rule establishing a "Do Not Call" registry against marketing calls

The RAK communications regulator adopted Rule 102/2026 establishing a public "Do Not Call" electronic registry, published in BiH's Official Gazette on 9 October, letting citizens and companies block marketing calls, texts and faxes including from political parties, religious communities and charities. The rule takes effect eight days after publication, but the registry itself will only become operational after a technical instruction and a further 120-day setup period.

Bihać prepares payment of new veterans' allowance from January next year

Bihać's department for veterans' and disability protection says a law on a monthly allowance for demobilised veterans will start applying on 1 January next year, though payments will follow only after individual applications are processed; the department estimates 8,000 to 10,000 users could qualify.
